Securantis how-to guide

Purpose of this article

This guide explains how to read and interpret the information displayed by the Securantis module in the PrestaShop back office: overall score, priority alerts, license status and agent synchronization. You will know where to find each piece of information, which actions to consider and how to resolve common issues.

Prerequisites

  • Securantis module installed and enabled in PrestaShop (compatible with 1.7 to 9).
  • Active Securantis account if you use cloud features (valid license).
  • Administrator access to the PrestaShop back office.
  • PHP and server operational (no server changes required to read the dashboard).

Overview of the dashboard

The dashboard presents four main blocks you should review regularly:

  1. Security score (score /100)

  2. Priority alerts

  3. License status and related actions

  4. Synchronization / agent status

  5. Reading the security score

Objective: measure the store's overall health according to Securantis checks.

Steps:

  1. Open the PrestaShop back office and navigate to the Securantis module → Dashboard.
  2. Spot the main number displayed (rating out of 100).
  3. Complete the reading with the associated status label (for example "good", "warning", "critical") and the grade detail if provided.

Interpretation:

  • 80–100: generally satisfactory, remain vigilant and apply minor recommendations.
  • 55–79: warnings present, prioritize fixing the listed items.
  • <55: critical state — priority corrective actions required.

Cautious settings:

  • Do not automatically disable important protections to raise the score. Prioritize fixes (updates, SSL configuration, 2FA).

Common score-related errors:

  • Score too low after recent activation: wait for a full scan to complete (may take a few minutes).
  • Fluctuating score: automatic periodic scans or recent changes on the store.
  1. Understanding priority alerts

Objective: identify issues that require immediate attention (critical or warning).

Steps:

  1. In the dashboard, locate the "priority alerts" section.
  2. Read for each alert: level (critical/warning), the control involved and the target (for example file, component or configuration).
  3. If alerts include guided actions, follow them step by step before any deletion or quarantine.

Recommended actions:

  • Critical: block public access if necessary, perform a backup, quarantine suspicious files (manual action required) and plan a restoration or in-depth analysis.
  • Warning: apply the proposed fixes (update, permissions, configuration).

Precautions:

  • No automatic permanent deletion is performed by Securantis; any deletion or restoration requires a human decision.
  • Before modifying critical files, perform a full backup.

Common errors and troubleshooting:

  • Undocumented alert: export the detail and consult the event log in the interface.
  • Too many identical alerts: check if the detection rule is too sensitive or if a recent change is causing false positives.
  1. Checking the license status

Objective: ensure the Securantis license is active to unlock cloud features and receive reports.

What you see:

  • License activation indicator (active / inactive) and action button to activate or verify the license.
  • Possible mentions: requirement to activate the license for certain features (e.g. report sending, private updates).

Steps:

  1. Check the status displayed in the "Account & license" block of the module.
  2. If the license is inactive, use the interface provided to activate or verify the license (follow the displayed procedure).
  3. After activation, confirm that synchronization and updates are available.

Common problems and solutions:

  • License refused: check the domain associated with the license and the expiration date in your Securantis customer area.
  • Activation blocked: verify that the server can reach Securantis services (no outbound firewall blocking).

License-related precautions:

  • Never share your credentials by email or chat. Access for paid intervention is provided only via the secure customer area after payment.
  1. Checking synchronization and agent status

Objective: confirm that the module agent communicates correctly with the Securantis cloud and sends reports.

What to check:

  • Agent connection/synchronization status indicator.
  • Last synchronization and reporting activity (reports, events, alerts sent by email if enabled).

Steps:

  1. In the dashboard, locate the agent status (connected / not connected) and the date/time of the last synchronization.
  2. If synchronization is old or shown as interrupted, trigger a manual synchronization via the option provided in the module.

Common troubleshooting:

  • Agent disconnected: verify the server's network connection and outbound firewall rules that could block access to Securantis APIs.
  • Synchronization blocked after update: restart the module or reactivate the license if requested.

Alert email settings

The module can send reports and alerts by email. By default, there are thresholds (for example score threshold) and types of triggering events. Check the configured recipients and the cooldown frequency to avoid alert fatigue.

When to contact Securantis support

Contact support if:

  • the score remains abnormally low despite documented fixes,
  • the license is valid in the customer area but activation fails from PrestaShop,
  • the agent does not synchronize even though the server has a working internet connection,
  • you suspect a compromise requiring a paid intervention.

Before opening a ticket, provide:

  • precise description of the issue and screenshots of the dashboard,
  • timestamp of the last synchronization and extract of the priority alerts,
  • confirmation that you performed a full backup.

Security and final precautions

  • Do not perform any automated deletion without a prior backup.
  • Quarantine, restore or deletion actions are always under human control.
  • Avoid sending passwords or keys by email/chat: use the secure customer area for any access transmission in case of intervention.

Expected outcome after verification

  • You will be able to clearly read the score and its meaning, handle or plan actions for priority alerts, confirm license status and ensure the agent synchronization.
  • If everything is correct, reports will be sent and recommended protections enabled according to your license.

Useful appendices

  • Perform a backup before any major corrective operation.
  • Consult the module event logs for more details on each alert.

If you need help interpreting a specific alert or activating the license, our support is available via the secure customer area.
