Objective
This guide explains how to:
- create a Securantis account;
- choose the number of sites (licenses) to protect;
- make the annual payment via Stripe;
- find and manage your licenses in the customer area.
Audience and prerequisites
This document is for administrators who want to subscribe to a Securantis plan to protect sites. Before you begin:
- have a valid e‑mail address and a payment method (bank card);
- prepare billing information (name, address, VAT if applicable);
- know how many sites you want to protect — you can adjust the number later within certain limits.
Detailed steps
- Create a Securantis account
- Go to the public Securantis signup page.
- Fill in the requested fields: name, e‑mail, password and billing information if the form asks for it.
- Confirm your e‑mail address if a validation e‑mail is sent.
Expected result: you will receive a welcome e‑mail and you will be able to log in to the customer area.
- Choose the number of sites (license quantity) and verify the price
- In the subscription or checkout form, indicate the quantity (number of sites) to protect. The minimum quantity is 1; the maximum quantity depends on the commercial limit displayed on the form.
- Verify the annual unit price displayed and the total estimate. The amount may be automatically adjusted according to prorata if you modify your subscription during a billing period.
Practical tip: if you are unsure of the exact number, start with a conservative number — you can increase the quantity later from the customer area if needed.
- Payment via Stripe
- Confirm the billing information and enter your card details on the integrated Stripe interface.
- Finalize the payment. After confirmation, Stripe handles invoices, VAT (if provided) and payment methods.
What you need to know:
- payment is processed on the Stripe platform: Securantis does not have access to your raw card numbers;
- in case of a payment error, Stripe will indicate the reason (insufficient funds, card declined, etc.); retry with another method or contact your bank if necessary.
- What happens after payment?
- Creation and synchronization of licenses: after payment confirmation, Securantis creates the licenses corresponding to the quantity paid. Synchronization may be immediate or processed via automated notifications from the payment system.
- E‑mail notification: you will receive an e‑mail confirming the creation/reactivation of the licenses and indicating where to find them in your customer area.
- Prorata adjustment: if you change the quantity during the subscription, the amount is adjusted according to prorata and the next annual renewal.
- Find and view your licenses in the customer area
- Log in to your Securantis customer area.
- Go to the Billing / Licenses section (or “Licenses and billing”).
- You will see:
- the quantity recorded on the Stripe side (renewable quantity);
- the number of usable licenses (active licenses + available licenses ready to activate);
- the number of linked sites (licenses currently in use);
- suspended or expired licenses if applicable.
- A table or list generally allows you to open each license to see its status and, if necessary, the linked site.
Expected result: your paid licenses appear as “available” or “active” depending on whether they are already attached to a site.
Prudent settings and best practices
- Check the confirmation e‑mail immediately: it contains quick links to your licenses and downloads.
- Do not modify the quantity during a synchronization operation (e.g. immediately after purchase): wait for the confirmation e‑mail or for the licenses to appear in the customer area.
- Keep billing information (address and VAT) up to date in your Stripe account via the portal if necessary; this avoids billing errors.
Common errors and quick diagnostics
- The number of licenses shown in the customer area is lower than the quantity paid:
- Wait a few minutes: creation may be triggered by automated notifications.
- Refresh the page and force synchronization if a synchronization button is available.
- No confirmation e‑mail: check the spam folder; ensure the e‑mail address in your profile is correct.
- Payment declined by Stripe: try another card, verify the billing address or contact your bank.
- You already had an active subscription and the public checkout is blocked: log in and add licenses from your customer area instead of creating a second subscription.
Advanced troubleshooting (before contacting support)
- Check the status of your subscription in the customer area: if it appears as “subscribed”, automatic synchronization should create or reactivate the licenses.
- If you see licenses “suspended” after a payment incident, correct your payment method via the Stripe billing portal; reactivation may trigger the restoration of the licenses.
- If you manually changed the quantity (e.g. decreased it) and need to increase quickly, use the subscription interface to add the desired quantity — creation will then occur via the synchronization process.
Important precautions
- Decisions to delete, quarantine or restore files on your sites require human action: Securantis does not automatically delete malicious files without validation.
- Never transmit passwords by e‑mail or chat. If a paid intervention is required, access credentials are provided only in the secure customer area after payment and acceptance of the intervention.
When to contact Securantis support
Contact support if:
- your licenses do not appear in the customer area more than 30 minutes after payment confirmation;
- you see persistent inconsistencies between the Stripe quantity and the number of usable licenses;
- you received a blocking error message during the checkout process (excluding card errors);
- you suspect incorrect billing or a VAT issue not resolved via the Stripe portal.
Information to provide to support (no passwords)
- the e‑mail used for the Securantis account;
- the approximate date and time of the payment;
- the Stripe invoice identifier or the message displayed by Stripe if you have it;
- a screenshot of the licenses page showing the inconsistency if possible.
Conclusion
By following these steps you should be able to create your account, purchase the desired number of licenses via Stripe and quickly find your licenses in the customer area. Most incidents are resolved within minutes thanks to automatic synchronization; in case of prolonged blockage, Securantis support can assist you quickly if you provide the requested information.
